Last Monday while buying burgers for lunch, I saw two girls. They were behind me waiting for their turn to order. They were happy. I can see it through their eyes. After a couple of minutes seeing them laughing and smiling, I noticed something. They were deaf. It took me some time to realize that until they started using their hands. How stupid of me.
I realized how hard for them to communicate with other people who are not deaf. I myself tried to communicate with them but ended up making a fool of myself using own sign language plus talking chopped sentences.
I know mukhang na kong tanga nung mga oras na yun sa pakikipag usap sa kanila na alam ko, hindi ako talaga maiintindihan o naririnig man lang. maski anong sabihin ko, dedma sa kanila. well siguro out of kindness, nag smile na lang yung isa sa kin. anyway, ok lang yun, at least next time alam ko na gagawin ko.
